One week and twenty-four hours;
Just shy by an eight day week.
I walked the isle, exchanged vows
And kissed the bride my own.
Thirty five years come and gone.
Seven children chosen by our God
The gold at the end of the bow.
Dined out with our dears and theirs.
After, rain so hard and chilly,
Yet the ark of the covenant abides
With us and the arch of the rainbow
Shown on us as we went home,
Touching earth over our abode.
“Eight days a week I love you.”
One week and twenty-four hours
Is not enough for me to say
You still are the bride of my youth.
